Description And Features

On the way to Dzuleke from Khonoma, the Cloudline Treehouse is nestled on top of a mountain at the cloud line which is where it gets its name. The place is put together by childhood friends who are into adventure and make for great hosts. It overlooks a beautiful valley covered in thick forest with spectacular scenery. Their treehouses are built from scratch and have fishing activities that can be enjoyed as a meal which is rare at such heights. We highly recommend visiting the Cloudline Treehouse. Distance/Time from Guwahati: 372.3 km / 10 and a half hour drive

Dzukou valley trek

Dzukou Valley, a landscape pulled out of an artists dream, is at an altitude of about 2700 meters above sea level and the trek is considered to be pretty difficult. You can see the unending rolling hills stretching out to create the most beautiful landscape you can witness on our planet. There are many flowers and plants that are specific to this region in the world like the Dzukou lily. En route Dzukou, you cross the Khonoma Nature Conservation and Tragopan Sanctuary and hence will get excellent opportunities to spot wild animals and exotic birds. You will have to spend a night at the valley after the trek so plan your travel circuit accordingly.

Dzuleke village experience

The village is special because, in a highly traditional and religious culture, the elders of Dzuleke decided to ban all hunting since 1999 to ensure that the wildlife in the area would be conserved. If you're lucky, you can get a glimpse of the Stump-tailed Macaque, Barking Deer and the Mountain Bamboo Partridge. You could even spot the Blythe’s Tragopan, which is found only in Nagaland and is the state bird here in the forests of Dzuleke. The Naga culture, their hospitality and the culinary routines are something to learn from and take back to our world.

High altitude fishing

You can explore the region in and around the treehouse and indulge in high altitude fishing. The hosts will help you get acquainted with the techniques to a good catch and you can relish that hard-earned meal for dinner. The nights get quite cold so it's advisable to bring out the warmers and headgear.
