0-0The ravishing Umngot river beside the campsite is truly a blessing. The river, rocks, sand, hills and the trees engulfed by the clear skies and shining stars during the night are all gifts of mother nature that form a splendid view at the campsite. The camping experience here is recommended for both friends and family. Note:- From the month of March to October as the water level rises the campsite is moved to higher ground.
Swimming in the Umgnot River is a completely different experience because of the high clarity of the river water. You must go for snorkelling in Dawki regardless of your swimming ability. You can get pictures from this experience that are unlike anything you will get clicked for years to come. It's absolutely safe to get into the water and you will also be provided with life jackets and safety gear. Essentially, it's like having a really massive swimming pool with maximum clarity and vision.
The legendary tale behind the name of the waterfall is as fascinating as the waterfall itself. You can reach this 90-metre plunge waterfall by a 5-kilometre hike from Cherrapunji in Meghalaya. A deadly snake named Thlen was victoriously beheaded by some brave men near this waterfall. This place is symbolic of good over evil for the locals ever since. You can have a refreshing hiking experience to reach here because of the rocky trails that make it an adventurous climb.
